Abrasive waterjet has a number of advantages to other cutting processes. The OMAX 55100 Waterjet we use at Coastal Cutting is one of the most popular waterjet machines ever sold for a number of reasons:
- Repeatability. The Omax 55100 is repeatable to .005″ which means your parts come out to spec every time.
- No HAZ. Waterjet cutting introduces no extra heat into your material so there is no Heat Affected Zone. This means stronger parts, no warping, and zero annealing/temper/hardening effects
- Multi Material. Waterjet can cut MANY different materials. Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless, Stone, Tile, Rubber, Foam, Plastics, Wood, and even non tempered glass.
- Thick Material. Waterjet can cut up to 8″ of mild steel and even thicker in certain materials.
- Less Waste. Because the kerf on the waterjet is so smaill (.015″) parts are able to be nested and placed very close to each other when cutting. This means you get more parts per sheet of material, and far less scrap.
Waterjet cutting can be use in MANY different ways for many different applications. Here are some examples:
- Part Blanks. Reduce the amount of 2nd operation machining by up to 90% by having your parts cut within thousandths of their final dimensions.
- Foam Parts. Have you ever tried to cut foam accurately by hand? Let us cut your foam parts out easily and accurately.
- Custom Signs. Need a sign for your property or business? We can cut it out of (almost)anything you would like
- Gaskets. Hard and soft gaskets of all kinds can be easily created with the waterjet process.
- Tile and Stone. Spruce up you home and garden with a custom stone or tile project. Waterjet allows fine detail in many tile and quarry products.
- Gears, Racks, and Flanges. Many types of custom gears racks and flanges can be created and cut with low turn over times.
